Of course, the internet is already going wild trying to decipher Kojima’s Tweet for any kind of clues, but so far it doesn’t seem anything is a direct hint at what the director behind P.T. and Metal Gear could be working on next.
Every IGN Kojima Game Review
Earlier this year, Kojima said he would be interested in working on a Death Stranding 2 with Reedus, but that he would “start from zero.” It’s unclear exactly what he means by this, perhaps it could be a game set in the same universe, but with different characters and storylines.
In 2017, Kojima mentioned he wasn’t interested in making another horror game anytime soon because he gets “scared very easily.”
Kojima told IGN, “But while in that process, we’re constantly imagining, like, terrifying situations so it ends up giving me bad dreams. That’s the reason why I don’t want to make a horror game.”It’s also possible that he could be working on a completely new project. After all, if Death Stranding told us anything it’s that Kojima likes to try new things and explore new game mechanics.
While Kojima’s next project is likely a way’s away, his most recent game, Death Stranding, is currently available on PlayStation 4. Be sure to check out our Death Stranding review as well as our list of 61 essential tips to keep in mind as you play.
