The first Elemental Materia can be found in Chapter 6 – Light the Way. After activating at least two Sun Lamps, you’ll be able to get the Elemental Materia by solving the Collapsed Passageway Discovery.
With power turned on, you can move a platform to the proper level to finally reach platform H-07, where the Elemental Material is waiting. This spot is down a ladder, nearby where you fight two Queen Grashstrikes.
The Second Elemental Materia is earned only after a lot of hard work. You must complete every Side Quest in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and then progress to topside in Chapter 14 – In Search of Hope as part of the story. You will be rewarded an Elemental Materia and a Trophy. See a complete List of Side Quests. Keep in mind, there are a set of four side quests in Chapter 9 that cannot be unlocked simultaneously. Don’t fret – you only need to do one set to earn the Elemental Materia.
Elemental Materia – How to Use
Elemental Materia adds the element of the linked materia to your equipment. For example, if Elemental Materia equipped into a slot that’s linked to Fire Materia, that piece of equipment will gain the fire element.
When slotted into Weapons, that weapon’s basic attacks will deal additional elemental damage.
When slotted into Armor, that character will gain resistance or complete immunity to the linked element depending on the level of the Elemental Materia.
|Level 1||Level 2||Level 3|
| Weapon: Adds 8% linked elemental damage dealt.
Armor: Halves linked elemental damage taken.
| Weapon: Adds 15% linked elemental damage dealt.
Armor: Prevents linked elemental damage taken.
| Weapon: Adds 23% linked elemental damage dealt.
Armor: Absorbs linked elemental damage taken.
