Step 1. Turn on Cloud-Saves
This should be automatically turned on for Steam and GOG. If not, do the following for steam:
- In your Steam Library, right click The Witcher 3.
- Select Properties
- Click the Updates Tab
- Scroll down to “Steam Cloud” and make sure “Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization” is checked on.
If you’d like to turn Cloud Synchronization on for all games, you can do this from the Settings Menu. Go to Downloads + Cloud, then click the check box “Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization” from there.
For GOG GALAXY, enable the cloud save feature from settings, which you can access by clicking the GOG.COM logo in the top left corner.
Step 2. Download the Cloud Save to Nintendo Switch
Once The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is updated for the Nintendo Switch, moving over your PC save will be easy.
There should be a “Cloud Saves” menu option on the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Click it, then choose the client you use to play the PC version of The Witcher 3, Steam, or GOG.com.
Simply enter your log-in information to gain access to your cloud saves.
CDPR has noted that “Mod-related bugs and blockers might get transferred from a modded PC game save file.”
Step 3. Upload Your Switch Save
As “cross-saves” suggests, you can upload your Switch save from the main menu back to the Steam or GOG cloud to pick up The Witcher 3 on PC.
