Square Enix confirmed their new IP, Outriders will launch holiday 2020 on both Xbox Series X and PS5 – which features a blend of guns and magic in its 1-3 player co-op third-person shooter.
Also, a project listed by The First Development Division promises a “’next-generation action game experience that takes a step forward from the existing action game framework.”
The untitled game is apparently being worked on by an international team experienced in AAA game development both within and outside of Japan.
It is also likely that with the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake releasing early in 2020, the other parts still in development will be for both current and next-gen consoles.
Daedalic Entertainment has reaffirmed that its action-adventure game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, will becoming to next-gen consoles as well as PC in 2021. Little is known about the game, except that it will invent its own versions of Lord of the Rings characters rather than basing them on the movies.
During the 2019 Game Awards, Gearbox unveiled a new IP coming to the PlayStation 5 and PC, called Godfall. It is said to be a “looter-slasher” third-person action RPG game.
On October 31st 2019, Ubisoft announced that many of its upcoming titles that were delayed to 2020 will be cross-generation games, and appear on both PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. These include the following games:
- Watch Dogs Legion
- Rainbow Six Quarantine
- Gods and Monsters
- 2 Unannounced AAA games
On October 30th, Electronic Arts confirmed that Battlefield 6 will appear on next gen consoles – but only when the a strong player base has already been established. They also confirmed that The Sims 5 will be coming to the next generation of consoles as well.
Considering Bethesda’s Todd Howard’s comments on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018, it’s likely both games will be on PS5.
Though no new video games have been completely confirmed at this point, Sony did say that the next-gen console will be backwards compatible, meaning you can play PS4 games on the new system. The next-gen console will also support PSVR. 
According to Wired, the developer Bluepoint Games, who worked on the Shadow of the Colossus Remake, confirmed that they are “working on a big one right now”, and may possible point to a launch game when the PlayStation 5 releases at the end of 2020.
