Smash Legends Review – A Glorious Blast of Multiplayer Mashing Mayhem

Do you like fast-paced multiplayer brawlers? Do you like bright cartoon graphics? Do you like fairy tale characters presented with a twist? If you answered yes to those questions then we can pretty much guarantee that you’re going to absolutely love Smash Legends – it’s all of those things, and a good few more as well.

You’ll pick a fighter from a varied roster and take them out into a bunch of different arenas to fight other players to the death. There are solo and team-based modes, and you’re going to have to try them all to get the most out of the experience. You’ll want to though, because all of the modes are pretty darn great.

The fighters you’re picking from are all based on characters from fairy tales and classic stories, but with a pretty hefty twist. So Alice from Alice in Wonderland becomes a techy scientist with a robo-bunny companion and an enormous hammer. Sounds pretty awesome, right?

As you play you’re going to unlock different modes, new characters and a whole bunch of other extra goodies too. Even if you just jump in for a few games you’re going to walk away with a load of new stuff thanks to the different challenges that the game is always throwing your way.

The controls here are slick and precise. You move around with a joystick on the left hand of the screen, and unleash your attacks with buttons on the right. Characters have different movesets based around the same three buttons – one standard attack and two more powerful ones with cooldown timers. You’ve also got a jump button, which is super handy for getting out of trouble.

You’re going to have to get used to the different attacks of the character you choose, and figure out how best to use them when you’re fighting in a team with other players. It’s a good idea to find some friends to play with so you can always make sure you’re playing in a team of Legends that complement each other.

There’s so much to enjoy here that it’s hard not to get tangled up in everything that Smash Legends has to offer. There’s always something to do, always a fight waiting for you, and you’re always going to be playing with a massive smile on your face. The game fits pretty much perfectly into the palm of your hand as well.

This is a brilliant, bright and engaging scrapper that’s going to have you hooked from the word go. It’s challenging in all of the right ways and there are always new things to experiment with and new tasks to try and complete.

We’re hard pressed to think of a multiplayer brawler on the Play Store (or App Store) that’s anywhere near as much fun as Smash Legends.
