While The Wolf Among Us 2 is back in development, the renewed version of the game doesn’t build on any of the previous work that Telltale did on it. The creative team working on the sequel now actually started from scratch.
“We have completely restarted the development of the game,” Ottilie said. “We felt it best to give the new creative team a clean slate to start with.”
That means all previous details shown off in the trailer and other materials for The Wolf Among Us Season 2 will not be included in the renewed version of the sequel.
In fact, Ottilie also confirmed that the Telltale Tool that Telltale’s adventure games were made with isn’t being used either. The Wolf Among Us 2 is being developed in Unreal Engine. Probably for the best given how old the Telltale Tool was getting.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is being revived by several former Telltale employees who had previously worked on the game’s first season. That includes lead writer Pierre Shorette, and directors Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart who are working alongside LCG Entertainment as AdHoc Studio, the company they founded after leaving Telltale.
Further good news is that the voice actors of Bigby Wolf and Snow White are returning alongside composer Jared Emerson-Johnson.
The Wolf Among Us 2 Reveal Screens
The revived version of the sequel was announced at this year’s The Game Awards. The Wolf Among Us 2 has no release date yet but it’ll be coming to consoles and PC, initially as an Epic Games store exclusive.
